Federal Court Awards FLSA Class Certification to Planet Home Lending Loan Officers
Stephan Zouras, LLP – a national leader in recovering unpaid earned minimum and overtime wages on behalf of Loan Officers – has secured an order from the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York granting Conditional Certification and Issuance of Notice to hundreds of Loan Officers who worked for Planet Home Lending in New York or Florida since July 2015.
In August of 2017, Stephan Zouras, LLP filed a Collective and Class Action Complaint against Planet Home Lending, LLC under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) and the New York Labor Law for its failure to properly record or pay for time worked by its loan officers in excess of 40 hours in given workweeks.
The lawsuit is brought on behalf of all loan officers who worked for Planet Home Lending, LLC in their New York and Florida offices and seeks to recover unpaid earned overtime wages.
The United States Department of Labor (DOL) has stated that typical loan officers are entitled to minimum wage and overtime wages, as well as guaranteed minimum wage and overtime under state wage laws. Stephan Zouras, LLP has secured tens of millions of dollars in unpaid earned wages for thousands of loan officers across the United States.
